Job Title: Business Development Manager
Location: Abuja and Lagos
Role Summary
- The role entails building market position by locating, developing, defining, negotiating, and closing business relationships
- The job holder works in a senior sales position within the
company and works with the internal team, marketing staff, and other
managers to increase sales opportunities and thereby maximize revenue
for the company
Responsibilities
- Prospect target clients for an increased business growth
- Endeavours to build healthy bonds with new clients
- Meet sales targets as defined by the management
- Identifies new opportunities for sales campaigns that can lead to increased sales
- Responsible for overall marketing activities
- Closes new business deals by coordinating requirements;
developing and negotiating contracts; integrating contract requirements
with business operations
- Develop & present new products and services and enhance existing relationships
- Track and record activity on clients accounts and help to close deals to meet these targets
- Present to and consult with senior level management on business trends with a view to developing new products, services
- Responsible for overall marketing budget and implementation
- Grow sales customer base by sourcing new businesses
- Schedule, Plan approaches, pitches, develop and make presentations to potential clients
- Screens potential business deals by analyzing market strategies,
deal requirements, potential, and financials; evaluating options;
resolving internal priorities; recommending equity investments where
necessary
Job Requirement
- Minimum of BA/BSc (Not lower than second class division)
- Minimum of 5 years experience in business development or
marketing, preferably in a construction, real estate, or professional
services environment
- Strong market knowledge and territory management
- Very good presentation skills, with energy level
- Ability to meet sales goals and deadlines
- Ability to close deals
- Ability to lead and motivate a team
- Must be resident in preferred work location or willing to relocate at short notice at personal cost
- Strong interpersonal/Communication skills
- Ability to refocus on prospect perceptions
- Applying modern influencing techniques for sales and marketing strategies
- Prospecting skills and sales planning ability
