BSS Vocational & Skill Acquisition Center accredited by Federal Ministry of Works & Labour as Trade Test Center, urgently requires an experienced Full Time candidate to fill the positions below:     Job Title: Hotel & Event Management Instructor Location: Lagos Job Type: Full-Time Job Description

  • We urgently require an experienced Full-Time Hotel & Event Management Instructor to work in our Vocational & Skill Acquisition center.
Responsibilities
  • Teach students how to plan event from start to finish according to requirements, target audience and objectives;
  • Teach students how to come up with suggestions to enhance the event’s success;
  • Teach students how to prepare budgets and ensure adherence;
  • Teach students how to source and negotiate with vendors and suppliers;
  • Lead promotional activities for the event;
  • Teach students how to analyze the event’s success and prepare reports;
  • Lecture planning, preparation and research;
  • Contact and teaching time with students;
  • Checking and assessing students' work;
  • Encouraging personal development via tutorial or pastoral work.
Qualification
  • Candidates must possess a B.Sc/B.A or HND in Business Administration, Hospitality Management or related field from a recognized academic institution.
  • Technical College Education with Trade Test and certificate from National Business & Technical Examination Board (NABTEB).
Skills and Competencies:
  • Must have worked in the Hospitality & Event Management department in a reputable Technical School or Hospitality & Event Management Academy;
  • Must have an in depth understanding of Hotel & Event Management;
  • Ability to design, deliver, assess and revise teaching programs;
  • Experience and success in developing new approaches to learning and teaching methods.
  • Must have a proven track record of contributing to the overall success of own and wider academic departments;
  • Excellent communication skills with experience of developing networks and contributing to the development of better working practices;
  • Must know how to work quickly and command attention;
  • Must have physical stamina;
  • Have the ability to adapt to a multicultural setting and to handle students of different nationalities.
Experience:
  • 2 - 5 years in similar job with a credible portfolio.
      Job Title: Chef (Instructor) Location: Lagos Responsibilities
  • Teach students how to prepare local and continental dishes, as well as finger foods, such as: small chops, peppered snail, peppered gizzard, peppered goat meat (asun), etc;
  • Teach students how to dish and present meals;
  • Teach students how to prepare meal plans and budget;
  • Lecture planning, preparation and research;
  • Check and assess students' work;
  • Encourage personal development.
Qualifications
  • Candidates must possess a B.Sc/BA or HND in Food and Nutrition, Culinary Arts or related field from a recognized academic institution.
  • Technical College Education with Trade Test and certificate from National Business & Technical Examination Board (NABTEB).
Experience:
  • 2 - 5 years in similar job with a credible portfolio.
Skills and Competencies:
  • Must have worked in the Culinary Arts department in a reputable Technical School or Catering Academy;
  • Must have experience of teaching culinary arts (cooking) effectively and providing a stimulating environment for learning and teaching to motivate, inspire and challenge students;

  • Have the ability to adapt to a multicultural setting and to handle students of different nationalities;
  • Ability to design, deliver, assess and revise teaching programs;

      Job Title: Electrical Engineering Instructor Location: Lagos Responsibilities
  • Design electronic components, software, products, or systems for commercial, industrial, medical, military, or scientific applications
  • Analyze customer needs and determine electrical system requirements, capacity, and cost to develop a system plan
  • Develop maintenance and testing procedures for electronic components and equipment
  • Evaluate systems and recommend design modifications or equipment repair
  • Inspect electronic equipment, instruments, and systems to make sure they meet safety standards and applicable regulations
  • Plan and develop applications and modifications for electronic properties used in parts and systems to improve technical performance
  • Design new ways to use electrical power to develop or improve products
  • Do detailed calculations to develop manufacturing, construction, and installation standards and specifications
  • Direct manufacturing, installing, and testing of electrical equipment to ensure that products meet specifications and codes
Qualifications
  • Candidates must possess a B.Sc/HND or equivalent from any recognized Technical institution.
  • A registered member of National Association of Technological Engineers (NATE) would be an added advantage
Requirements:
  • Must have worked in the electrical & electronics engineering department in a reputable technical college or its equivalent.
  • Must have an in depth understanding of the subject electrical & electronics engineering including recent developments in electrical & electronics engineering.
  • Must be honest, God fearing and diligent at work
  • Experience of teaching effectively and providing a stimulating environment for learning and teaching to motivate, inspire and challenge Students.
  • Ability to design, deliver, assess and revise teaching programmes.
  • Experience and success in developing new approaches to learning and teaching methods.
  • Must have a proven track record of contributing to the overall success of own and wider academic departments.
  • Excellent communication skills with experience of developing networks and contributing to the development of better working practices.
  • Must have at least 2 – 5 Years of post-qualification experience in teaching, research and academic administration
  • The candidate must reside in Lagos.
Skills:
  • Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Must have knowledge of a wide range of electrical & electronics technologies.
  • Must have strong public speaking skills.
  • Must be detail oriented and mechanically inclined.
      Job Title: Baker (Instructor) Location: Lagos Job Type: Full time Responsibilities
  • Teach students how to prepare bake a wide variety of confectioneries, such as: cakes (classic vanilla, strawberry, chocolate, cheese, carrot, red velvet, fruit cakes), bread (classic plain, chocolate, sardine, coconut, fruit bread), meat-pie, chicken-pie, sausage, eggroll, scotch egg, doughnut, etc. following traditional and modern recipes;
  • Teach students how to decorate cakes using different types of icings, toppings, such as: butter cream icing, fondant icing, whipped cream icing, fruits, chocolates, sweets, popcorn etc.;
  • Teach students how to decorate pastries and desserts using different types of icings, toppings etc.;
  • Teach students how to coordinate all confectioneries presentation;
  • Lecture planning, preparation and research;
  • Check and assess students' work;
  • Encourage personal development.
Qualifications
