Job Title: Assistant Manager - Qactrep

Job Description
The roles and responsibilities of this include but not limited to:

  • In conjunction with the Core Manager, lead the continual development of robust and safe clinical governance processes
  • Participate in creating and sitting on committees of various QACTREPservices
  • Liaise with MDT teams to establish patient involvement in improving treatment outcomes
  • To assist in developing reports that will contribute to the production of audit reports.
  • To act as a resource for all staff on Quality and Audit issues
  • To provide specialist advice to clinicians in all departments in relation to patient safety, including standardisation of patient care, and interpretation of international clinical recommendations
  • To prepare reports on quality and clinical governance for relevant committees, and internal monthly meetings
  • To participate in the production of the meetings agendas, minutes and disseminating all necessary reports and action plans in a timely manner prior to and after the committee meetings
  • In collaboration with HR, provide relevant training and support in clinical and general audit and clinical investigation techniques to staff
  • To develop and maintain own knowledge and skills in Quality, Governance, Audit and Risk Management and share this knowledge with staff including volunteers
  • To establish a robust clinical risk management process that includes, lines of defence, risk mitigation and promotion of evidence-based practice
  • To make use of clinical background and knowledge to initiate, develop, and maintain strategic relationships with organisations and individuals in line with the strategic plan of QACTREP
  • To ensure that quality and governance process are embedded into new and existing services
  • To gather information, and then, in partnership with colleagues, develop effective approaches to approved new contacts/partners.
  • Demonstrate the ability to use highly developed negotiation skills to challenge or question clinical practice overcoming staff resistance to change
  • Give formal presentations to internal and external partners and staff
  • Responsible for producing high quality written reports, interpreting complex information
  • Ability to engage clinical colleagues and managers with credibility as a clinician demonstrating leadership skills
  • To ensure that a culture of continual quality improvement is embedded across clinical services
  • To lead the development of key clinical policies and procedures
  • To lead the governance and quality reporting from clinical services to the relevant committees and boards of the consortium
  • To ensure that there are systems of governance established that promote robust support of clinical activities

Organisational Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for policy standardisation ensuring evidence based practice and robust systems and processes of implementation, dissemination and monitoring of all clinical guidelines for all consortium services
  • Build and maintain a strong knowledge of Intersect Consortium’s activities & services
  • To work within the policy framework of Intersect Consortium
  • To adopt an anti-discriminatory approach in all aspects of the role.
  • Working in partnership with other departments to develop joint policies
  • To maintain confidentiality at all times and to comply with Intersect Consortium’s policies on Information Governance, thus ensuring security in the management and use of information
  • To play an active part in the development and maintenance of good relationships with all who have business with the consortium
  • Establish methods for gathering and sharing good practice, local intelligence and experiences across the consortium’s organisations
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues in Fundraising & Communications to ensure that voluntary income opportunities, and communications activity, are maximized
  • To administrate and organise own work to ensure that it is accurate and meets quality targets, reasonable deadlines and reporting requirements

Requirements

  • Must be a clinician either a Nurse, Psychologists or Medic and experience in research
  • Minimum of 3 years as a clinician, depending on professional group
  • Superior research, analytical, planning, organizational skills, and detail orientation.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects, and competing priorities while adhering to deadlines.
  • Able to communicate effectively and with exceptional writing.
  • Ability to work independently, exercise mature professional judgment, and use discretion.
