Job Description

  • Our client is seeking a highly motivated Assessment Supervisor to lead data collection activities for the Nigeria Digital Health Initiative (NDHI).
  • This initiative focuses on evaluating digital readiness across primary and tertiary health facilities in Kano, Bauchi, Plateau, Ebonyi, Ekiti, Rivers, and FCT, with the goal of strengthening Nigeria’s health system through technology-driven improvements in service delivery, data management, and patient care.

Job Responsibilities
Team Management:

  • Oversee a team of 10 data collectors, ensuring adherence to data collection protocols, timelines, and targets.
  • Conduct daily briefings, provide guidance, and address challenges as they arise.

Reporting & Communication:

  • Submit daily progress updates and a final summary report detailing team performance and field challenges.
  • Maintain clear communication with project leads and escalate critical issues promptly.

Key Deliverables:

  • Successfully complete the team’s collective target of 90 health facility assessments.
  • Develop and implement a detailed schedule for data collection activities.
  • Submit comprehensive reports detailing assessment activities and field challenges encountered.

Data Quality Assurance:

  • Perform spot checks to validate data accuracy, completeness, and consistency.
  • Address discrepancies and escalate unresolved issues to project leads.

Logistics Coordination:

  • Organize and manage fieldwork logistics, including transportation, tools, and schedules.
  • Ensure team members have the necessary resources to complete tasks effectively.

Key Performance Indicators

  • Number of completed health facility assessments.
  • Accuracy and validity of health assessment data.
  • Adherence to the team’s data collection schedule and timely report submission.
  • Average time taken to address and resolve field challenges reported by the team.
  • Timeliness and completeness of daily progress reports submitted to the project lead.

Requirements

  • Education: Bachelor’s Degree or its equivalent (2.1 or higher).

Experience:

  • Previous experience supervising field data collection activities, preferably in healthcare or public health projects.
  • Knowledge of logistics coordination for field activities, including scheduling and resource allocation.
  • Previous involvement in health facility assessments or similar initiatives is an advantage.
  • Experience managing teams and ensuring adherence to data collection protocols.
  • Familiarity with data verification and quality control processes.

Skills & Competencies:

  • Strong knowledge of local communities in the state of assignment.
  • Fluent in local Indigenous languages (Yoruba, Pidgin, Igbo, Hausa) to facilitate communication.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel.
  • Proficient in e-tools for data collection (e.g., ODK, Kobo Toolbox).
