Job Title: Area Operations Manager

Location: Nationwide
Employment Type: Full-time

Role Summary

  • The prospective role holder will be responsible for managing the activities and supervising the daily operations of branch operations manager (BOMs) in a particular cluster/area/region.
  • The Area Operations Manager ensures that each branch manager is well-supervised to drive branch profitability, manage daily operations and escalations where necessary.

Key Accountabilities

  • Ensure area operations are carried on in an appropriate, cost-effective, and efficient manner.
  • Improve operational management systems, processes, and best practices.
  • Ensures area processes remain legally compliant.
  • Provide support on branch escalations where necessary
  • Supervise and mentor staff in the assigned region/cluster
  • Drive team engagement, development and motivation
  • Proactively support Branch Managers in project management and execution e.g. Marketing initiatives
  • Proactively track branch progress on assigned tasks and company-wide initiatives.
  • Formulate and execute area operational objectives.
  • Examine financial data and use them to improve profitability.
  • Ensure all targets of the area/region are met.
  • Perform quality controls and monitoring activities.

Requirements
Education & Experience:

  • University Degree in Humanities Arts, Social Science or related field.
  • Minimum of 7 years in Operations/Sales or Customer Service, preferably in Retail, Hospitality and Insurance sector.
  • Experience in the Fitness Industry, Hospitality/Hotels, Exceptional Restaurants, Retails
  • Ability to manage a cluster of branch facilities, in relation to the organization’s look and feel standard.

Skills & Competencies:

  • Executive Presence - Poise, Professional Etiquette, Public Speaking, Confidence & Assertiveness.
  • Financial Acumen: Ability to understand and interpret financial statements and ratios.
  • Ownership Mindset – Owner/Operator Mentality.
  • Good Microsoft Office Skills
  • Excellent interpersonal skills: Ability to positively engage customers and implement directives/policies/processes as expected by management.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Ability to quickly escalate/resolve problems that may affect branch operations or create poor customer experience.
  • Excellent Customer Service
  • Excellent leadership, interpersonal, persuasive and communication skills.
  • Coaching Skills: Ability to grow and manage people.
