We are recruiting to fill the position below:
Job Title: Warehouse Assistant
Location: Damaturu, Yobe State
Start date: As Soon As Possible
Direct Line Manager: Warehouse Officer
Job Type: Full Time
Objective 1
- Ensure management of the base’s stocks and stores
Tasks and Responsibilities:
- Ensure all deliveries are physically conformed with delivery notes and/or waybills;
- Update the monthly inventory and complete stock reports using AAH standard stock management tools;
- Ensure that every item in the store/warehouse has stock cards and bin cards (if applicable) and they are up-to-date;
- Treat the products following the procedures given;
- Separate food products from other products;
- Set up pest control.
- Ensure security by good storage conditions of hazardous items (diesel, gasoline)
- Notify base warehouse officer when the stock reaches minimum stock levels
- Clean the store daily and ensure it is regularly disinfected and ventilated;
- Check the temperature and humidity of the store;
- Check the sanitary conditions of new products (absence of parasites);
- Remove infected products and inform the program manager;
Objective 2
- Support cargos and shipments
Tasks and Responsibilities:
- Complete the various shipping documents in time
- Supervise and support packaging and loading of supplies and equipment
- Liaise with transporter (if needed)/ AAH driver on the handover of received shipments, check deliveries, sign delivery notes/ waybills, issue reception notes and make sure these are kept on file
Objective 3
- Check the quality of the food items and drugs to be stocked:
Tasks and Responsibilities:
- Examine the deliveries: quantity, quality, documentation (certificate of origin and analysis);
- Check the sanitary conditions of the products entering;
- Report any problem with the quantity or quality
Objective 4
Tasks and Responsibilities:
- Assist to complete monthly Stock report/SFU
- Assist physical inventory report based on monthly samples inventory (at least complete one every 3 months)
- Archive all warehouse documents (stock cards, stock reports) , shipping documents ( delivery notes, waybills, reception notes) as per AAH standard guidelines
- Assist to complete Pharmacy report (if necessary)
- Assist to provide weekly SFU to Warre house officer on deliveries including fuel
Position Requirements
Qualifications
- High School Certificate or School Certificate with professional experience in stock management
Skills and Experience
Essential:
- At least 1 year proven experience in stock management
- Sound knowledge of general storage procedures
- Knowledge of computer packages excel and word
- Highly organized
- Good communication skills in both written and oral English and excellent in Hausa or Kanuri language
Preferred:
- Archiving management
- Traceable previous experience in a similar role in an NGO set up
Minimum Monthly Basic Salary
NGN109,897 per month
