Job Title: Accounting / Finance Manager

Job Description

  • We are seeking a skilled and experienced Accounting/Finance Manager. This role is critical in overseeing all financial activities to ensure the financial health of the organization.
  • The ideal candidate will excel in developing financial strategies, managing budgeting and forecasting, implementing internal controls, ensuring regulatory compliance, and delivering accurate financial reports to support decision-making.
  • Candidates must possess strong analytical skills, deep knowledge of Nigerian tax laws, and proven experience in the hospitality or restaurant industry.

Responsibilities
Financial Accounting & Reporting:

  • Oversee daily accounting operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger, and bank reconciliations.
  • Ensure accuracy and integrity of financial data across all restaurant outlets.
  • Maintain the chart of accounts, ensuring proper classification of revenue, expenses, and assets.

Cost Management & Analysis:

  • Oversee cost controls and inventory management processes across all restaurant outlets.
  • Analyze cost structures (e.g., food, labor, overhead) and recommend cost-reduction strategies.
  • Provide pricing strategy insights to optimize margins while maintaining competitiveness.

Payroll Administration:

  • Supervise payroll preparation and ensure accurate wage, benefit, and deduction calculations.
  • Ensure compliance with labor laws and statutory requirements related to employee compensation.

Team Leadership & Development:

  • Lead, mentor, and develop the finance and accounting team, fostering a culture of learning and improvement.
  • Set performance targets and conduct regular performance reviews.

Budgeting & Forecasting:

  • Collaborate with management to prepare annual budgets and periodic forecasts for each restaurant location.
  • Monitor performance against budgets, provide variance analysis, and recommend corrective actions.

Cash Flow & Liquidity Management:

  • Manage cash flow to ensure adequate liquidity for operational needs and capital expenditures.
  • Review and authorize payments to suppliers, vendors, and third parties per approval processes.
  • Maintain relationships with banks and financial institutions for financing needs.

Internal Controls & Compliance

  • Design and implement internal control procedures to safeguard assets and minimize financial risk.
  • Ensure compliance with Nigerian tax laws (VAT, WHT, CIT, PAYE) and file all returns accurately and on time.
  • Coordinate with external auditors and tax consultants, providing necessary financial documentation.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • Professional certification (ICAN, ACCA, ACA, etc.) is required.
  • Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., Odoo or other ERP systems) and advanced knowledge of MS Excel.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills for cross-department collaboration.
  • High integrity and dependability with a results-oriented mindset.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in finance/accounting, with at least 2 years in a managerial or supervisory capacity.
  • Proven experience in the hospitality or restaurant industry is a MUST.
  • Strong knowledge of Nigerian tax laws, IFRS, and regulatory compliance.

Salary
N750,000 / Month.
