Job Title: Accountant

Location: Abuja (FCT)
Employment Type: Full-time

Role Description

  • This is a full-time on-site role as an Accountant at NAA located in Abuja. The accountant will be responsible for overseeing financial transactions, managing financial reports, maintaining cash controls, and preparing monthly and annual financial statements.
  • The ideal candidate will possess strong financial acumen, analytical skills, and the ability to handle in-house tax filing, stock taking, and preparation of financial reports. While ICAN certification is not required for this position, a solid background in accounting principles and experience in similar roles is preferred

Key Responsibilities
Your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

  • Financial Record Management: Maintain and update accurate financial records, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger, and bank reconciliations.
  • Stock Taking: Conduct stock taking activities, including inventory management, reconciliation, and valuation.
  • Financial Software: Utilize accounting software and tools to manage financial transactions efficiently.
  • Financial Analysis: Analyze financial data to identify trends, discrepancies, and opportunities for cost-saving or revenue generation.
  • Financial Advice: Provide financial advice to the company, including budget planning, forecasting, and financial reporting.
  • Tax Compliance: Ensure compliance with all tax regulations and prepare and perform In House filing of tax returns.
  • Financial Reporting: Prepare and present comprehensive financial reports to internal management, highlighting key financial insights and recommendations.
  • Audit Preparation: Collaborate with external auditors and prepare necessary documentation for audits.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or a related field
  • Experience with Financial Reporting, Auditing, and Taxation
  • Experience with risk management, budgeting, and forecasting
  • At least 3 years of relevant experience
  • Experience with Accounting Software (e.g. QuickBooks, Peachtree)
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong organizational and analytical skills
  • Demonstrated ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks
