Wadata Relief Care Initiative (WRCI) is a non-profit organization in Nigeria dedicated to creating a just world where children's rights and equality for girls and young persons are realized. With a strong commitment to mental health and psychosocial support services (MHPSS), WRCI focuses on a range of thematic areas, including health and nutrition, WASH (Water, Sanitation and Hygiene), education, child protection, gender-based violence (GBV), peacebuilding, prevention, countering violent extremism, and climate change. By addressing the root causes of poverty in Nigeria, WRCI strives to build sustainable communities where every child has access to quality education, safe drinking water, and adequate health facilities.

Job Title: Accountability to Affected Population (AAP) Officer

Location: Damaturu, Bade, Bursari, Potiskum and Yunusari - Yobe
Employment Type: Contract

Job Description
As an AAP Officer, you will play a crucial role in ensuring that WRCI's programs and services are responsive to the needs and priorities of the affected population. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Needs Assessment: Conduct regular needs assessments in collaboration with the Project Implementation Committee to identify and understand the needs of the affected population.
  • Participant Identification: Work closely with the Project Implementation Committee to identify project participants using defined criteria that ensure equitable and inclusive participation.
  • Advocacy: Advocate for the rights of the affected population and ensure that their voices are heard.
  • Reporting: Prepare regular reports on the effectiveness of WRCI's programs and services in meeting the needs of the affected population.
  • Capacity Building: Build the capacity of WRCI staff and partners in AAP principles and practices, including protection mainstreaming.
  • Feedback Mechanisms: Establish and maintain effective feedback mechanisms to gather feedback from beneficiaries.
  • Complaint Handling: Develop a complaint-handling mechanism to address grievances and concerns.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Social Work, International Development, Human Rights, or a related field.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Fluency in English and Hausa.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience working in humanitarian or development contexts.
  • Strong understanding of accountability principles and practices, focusing on protection mainstreaming.

Additional Skills (Preferred):

  • Experience in conducting needs assessments and surveys.
  • Knowledge of local customs and traditions.
  • Training in accountability to affected populations, including protection mainstreaming.

Salary
N1,800,000 - N3,500,000 / month.
