New Star Metal International Limited is a company that manufactures Aluminum ingot and package non-ferrous metals for exportation. However, with its diversification into PET recycling, a new division has been created.

Job Title: Account Officer
Location: Owode Onirin, Lagos

Job Summary
- The Account Officer is responsible for managing the financial records and transactions of the PET recycling company.
- This role involves preparing financial statements, maintaining accurate accounts, overseeing budget management, and ensuring compliance with local financial regulations.
- The Account Officer plays a vital role in supporting the company’s financial health and sustainability initiatives.
Responsibilities
Financial Record Keeping:
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records, including ledgers, journals, and invoices.
- Process accounts payable and receivable, ensuring timely payments and collections.
- Reconcile bank statements and manage cash flow.
Financial Reporting:
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and reports.
- Analyze financial data to identify trends, discrepancies, and areas for improvement.
- Assist in the preparation of budgets and forecasts.
Tax Preparation and Compliance:
- Prepare and file tax returns in accordance with Nigerian tax laws and regulations.
- Stay informed about changes in tax regulations and assess their impact on the company.
Continuous Improvement:
- Identify opportunities for process improvements in financial operations.
- Stay updated on industry best practices and implement relevant changes.
Compliance and Auditing:
- Ensure compliance with local financial regulations and tax obligations.
- Prepare for and support internal and external audits, providing necessary documentation and explanations.
- Implement and maintain effective internal controls to safeguard company assets.
Cost Analysis and Management:
- Conduct cost analysis to support decision-making and operational efficiency.
- Monitor expenses and identify opportunities for cost reduction.
- Collaborate with other departments to assess the financial impacts of projects and initiatives.
Collaboration and Communication:
- Work closely with management to provide financial insights and support strategic planning.
- Communicate financial information clearly to non-financial team members.
- Coordinate with suppliers, customers, and other stakeholders regarding financial transactions.
Requirements
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Previous experience in accounting or finance, preferably in the recycling or manufacturing sector.
- Experience in Tax management is an advantage
Skills:
- High proficiency in using accounting software such as Power Enterprise and Microsoft Excel.
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational abilities.
- Knowledge of Nigerian financial regulations and tax laws.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

Salary
N100,000 - N120,000 monthly.
