The Federal University Otuoke (FUO) is one of the Federal Universities established by the Federal Government of Nigeria in February 2011 in cognisance of the need to bridge the great divide between the educationally advantaged and disadvantaged sections of the country, especially areas where universities were lacking.  Cited in the serene and secure Otuoke Community, at the heart of the oil-rich Niger-Delta region of Bayelsa State, the University which is 21 kilometres south of the state capital Yenagoa, occupies an expanse of 200 hectares (494 acres).

Job Title: Lecturer II
Location: Otuoke, Bayelsa

Qualifications

  • Ph.D Degree or Master's Degree in the appropriate discipline
  • Three (3) years teaching and research experience in a University plus one (1) journal publications, or at least two (2)  years  as  an  Assistant  Lecturer or M.Sc plus professional registration.

 

Job Title: Lecturer I

Location: Otuoke, Bayelsa

Qualifications

  • Ph.D Degree in the appropriate discipline
  • Three (3) years teaching and research experience in a University plus three (3) publications, with at least two (2) years as a Lecturer II or Ph.D with professional registration as applicable.

 

Job Title: Senior Lecturer

Location: Otuoke, Bayelsa

Qualifications

  • Ph.D Degree in the appropriate discipline
  • Five (5) years teaching and research experience in a University plus ten (10) scholarly publications, with at least two (2) years as a Lecturer 1.
  • Candidates must also have sufficient administrative experience.

 

Job Title: Reader

Location: Otuoke, Bayelsa

Qualifications

  • Ph.D. in the appropriate discipline
  • Nine (9) years of unbroken teaching and research experience in a University system or cognate exposure with demonstrable evidence of scholarly achievement, Twenty-one (21) scholarly publications, with at least two (2) years as a Senior Lecturer.  
  • Candidates must also have sufficient administrative experience.
  • Overall, the candidate must have led in substantial numbers of research papers presented for assessment.

 

Job Title: Assistant Lecturer

Location: Otuoke, Bayelsa

Qualifications

  • Candidates  should  possess a Master's Degree in the appropriate discipline
  • Evidence of registration into Ph.D in any reputable University is an advantage.

 

Job Title: Graduate Assistant 

Location: Otuoke, Bayelsa

Qualifications

  • Candidate should possess a good honours Degree (First or Second Class Upper) in the appropriate discipline obtained from Federal University of Otueke, or any recognized University 
  • Evidence of enrolment into Master's Programme in any reputable University is an advantage.

 

Job Title: Professor

Location: Otuoke, Bayelsa

Qualifications

  • Candidates should possess a Ph.D. degree in the appropriate discipline with at least twelve (12) years of unbroken teaching and research experience in a University system, and  at least two years  as  an  Associate  Professor.
  • Candidates must have published at least twenty-eight (28) scholarly publications in both local and international journal, as proof of specialization in core areas plus registration with relevant professional bodies where applicable.
  • Candidates must also have sufficient administrative experience.  
  • Overall,  candidate  must  have  led  in  substantial numbers of research papers presented for assessment.
