The Abubakar Tafawa Balewa University (ATBU), is a federal university of technology located in Bauchi, northern Nigeria. The university is named after the first Prime Minister of the Federal
Republic of Nigeria, Sir Abubakar Tafawa Balewa. The motto of the university is DOCTRINA MATER ARTIUM, which literally means "Education is the mother of the practical arts". The university is known for having one of the best Engineering programme in Nigeria.

Job Title: Registrar

Responsibilities

  • The Registrar, who is the Chief Administrative Officer and one of the Principal Officers of the University, shall be responsible to the Vice-Chancellor for the day-to-day administration of the University.
  • By virtue of his/her office, he/she shall be the Secretary to Council, Senate, Congregation and Convocation.
Qualifications
  • Candidates should posses at least second class degree (Lower Division) in Arts/Humanity or Social Sciences with at least 15 years post qualification cognate experience in a University or other Tertiary Institutions.
  • Proficiency in Information and Communication Technology (ICT) with relevant Personnel Management Packages is required.
  • Possession of relevant higher degrees or postgraduate professional qualification in the appropriate fields is an added advantage.
  • The candidate should not be older than 60 years by 24th June, 2016 and must be of good health and have a good understanding of vision and mission of the university
  • He/She shall have the ability to provide good integrity and demonstrate transparency in private and public life and be able to command respect and loyalty of staff.
Conditions of Service for Registration
  • The conditions of service and salaries are as obtainable in Federal Universities in Nigeria and as may be determined by the University Governing Council.
  • The appointments are for a period of five years as stipulated in the University Laws and Regulations.


Job Title: Bursar

Responsibilities
  • The Bursar is the Chief Financial Officer of the University responsible to the Vic-Chancellor and Council for the day-to- day administration and control of the financial affairs of the University
  • In that capacity, the Bursar shall be competent to advise on the financial policies, disbursement of funds, and the preparation and presentation of annual budget, planning, control and periodic evaluation of University account and treasury services, including investment of funds, etc
  • The Bursar is also expected to carry out other duties may be assigned from time to time by regulatory institutions
  • The candidate should not be older than 60 years by 1 August, 2016 and must be of good health and have a good understanding of vision and mission of the University.
Qualifications
  • Candidates are required to have at least ‘second class degree (Lower Division) in Accounting and or professional qualification (i.e. ACCA, ACA, ICAN, ANAN) with at least 15 years post qualification cognate working experience in a University or other Tertiary Institutions.
  • Proficiency in Information and Communication Technology (ICT) with relevant financial and accounting Packages is required.
  • Possession of relevant higher degrees or postgraduate professional qualifications in the appropriate fields is an added advantage.
  • He/She shall have the financial prudence and financial ability to manage funds.
