Organizational Context
- These jobs are found in Headquarters (HQ), Regional Bureaux (RBs) or Country Offices (COs) and report to a more senior Supply Chain Officer or Deputy Division/Country Director. In the field, role holders typically report to the Professional Supply Chain Officer or the designate. In RBs and HQ, job holders report to a more senior Logistics Officer.

Job Purpose
- To carry out and proper reporting of the Nigeria Office Contracting. National staff trained in WFP logistics operations in general and Contracting in particular.
Key Accountabilities (Not All-Inclusive):
- Consolidate and analyze data from which to inform Country sourcing strategies or planspecialist contracting initiatives that support effective and cost optimizing purchase decisions.
- Lead the implementation of Contracting projects of moderate complexity or manageoperational activities for a Country Office (e.g., issue tenders, evaluate offers and negotiate/award contracts), to ensure successful contracting of transport, warehouse, and services.
- Coordinate and prepare accurate and timely reports of Contracting activities to contribute toa WFP wide view that enables informed decision making and consistency of informationpresented to stakeholders, leading to performance optimization.
- To support while working with the Senior Staff in the Initiative related to capacity building ofWFP staff and external partners to take a operational and proactive approach to theContracting of transport, warehouse and services e.g., through provision of training sessions.
- Contribute to preparedness actions, providing technical recommendations and guidance andmonitor the management of Contracting specific risks.
- Act in an assigned emergency response capacity as required to meet emergency needs.
- Collate information and draft appropriate responses to recommendations to support auditingof Contracting activities and ensure conformity with compliance rules.
- Identify, develop, and maintain strong relationships with all relevant suppliers and vendors toenable WFP to maximize the value of the service delivered.
- Work in close collaboration with cross functional counterparts to align Contracting activitiesand promote an integrated supply-chain approach to transport and service assistance.

Standard Minimum Qualifications
Education:
- Advanced University Degree in Transport Economics, Supply Chain, Logistics, Engineering, Business Management or other related field, or First University Degree with additional years of related work experience and/or training/courses.
Language:
- National Professional: Fluency (level C) in English language and the duty station’s language, if different
