Job description
The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to the following:
1. Prepare design philosophies, specifications and work scopes for structural elements of the Project.
2. Perform in-house analysis as required to support conceptual designs, perform in-house checks as required to verify Contractors Works.
3. Recommend and manage specialist software pertaining to the Structural Discipline.
4. Provide technical input to the procurement process for all structural materials on the Project.
5. Supervise design contractors engaged in structural design activities.
6. Carry out structural discipline and inter-discipline checks on contractor’s deliverables.
7. Supervise the preparation of in house design drawings as required.
8. Supervise as-building and back drafting exercises
9. Perform site checks, as required, at contractors fabrication yards and offshore installations.
10. Participate in Technical reviews and Safety and Operability studies.
11. Provide mentorship to National staff engaged on the Project.
12. Provide weekly progress reports, including areas of concern, key activities / milestones, progress versus plan and activities look ahead.

Requirements
- Degree in a relevant Engineering Discipline.
- Sound knowledge of International Oil and Gas structural design standards.
- Proven skills in the preparation of offshore structural deliverables, coordination of design contractor’s activities within this discipline and delivering design packages on time and within budget.
- Member of an internationally recognized professional engineering institute preferred.
- Minimum of 15 years in the Upstream Oil and Gas industry, with at least 8 years in a similar position.
- Operating company and Nigerian / West African experience preferred.

Terms & Conditions
Work Schedule - 6/2 weeks rotation
Initially 12 months (Option to extend).
For this position, preference will be given to Nigerian nationals. In case Expatriate candidate(s) are selected it is a prerequisite he/she is tasked to mentor and train a Nigerian understudy.
