A newly established government-owned public liability company(Nigerian Bulk Electricity Trading(nbet) Plc) is seeking qualified and exceptional candidates to fill the following executive management positions:


Job Title: Head, Power Contracts and Power Procurement
VACANCY DUTIES
The Head of the Power Contracts and Procurement department has overall responsibility for managing the organization's contractual relationships with Independent Power Producers (IPPs), Distribution Companies and other power sector entities, and for directing IPP planning and procurement activities. This position reports directly to the Chief Executive Officer.
VACANCY QUALIFICATIONS
•             A degree in business, economics, engineering or related degree
•             At least ten (10) years of progressive experience in an energy transacting environment or related function
•             Familiarity with power system planning and procurement
•             Familiarity with compliance monitoring systems and document management systems
•             Demonstrated experience managing teams as well as internal/external stakeholders
                    Ability to direct the daily operations of the Contracts and Procurement Unit, including direct supervision and development
•             Knowledge of Nigeria or similar power and natural gas markets, electricity regulatory framework, roles System and Market Operations in electricity markets, market design, utility economics and IPP costs
•             Experience negotiating power contracts or similar contracts
                    Experience providing -support activities to Finance- staff in the areas of fiscal management. audit, and financial reporting
•             Understanding of business ethics and integrity for the commercial contracting and procurement functions -
•             Ability to drive multiple priorities with urgency, and to effectively lead
•             Demonstrated knowledge of commercial structuring of power contracts
