We are recruiting to fill the position below:   Job Title: M & E Assistant Location: Damboa, Borno, Dikwa Job Summary

  • Technically under the supervision of M&E Coordinator and administratively supervised by the WASH Manager, the WASH M&E assistant will be responsible to for WASH based data collection, analysis and proper data presentation for reporting purpose.
  • S/he will be involved in WASH infrastructure quality monitoring and evaluation estimating the various indicators reached on a regular bases.
Main Responsibilities The WASH M&E Assistant will be responsible for:
  • Develop database for primary data on CHVs and hygiene promotion beneficiaries in communities.
  • Input beneficiaries’ data into spread sheet in preparation for distribution of NFI kits in communities.
  • Analyze CHV log sheet on monthly basis for proper report purposes.
  • Participate in community mobilization in collaboration with the WASH Assistants.
  • Participate in all WASH campaigns for monitoring and evaluation purposes.
  • For standardization purposes, s/he will actively participate alongside community volunteers in identifying locations/sites for WASH infrastructures (latrines construction/rehabilitation, borehole drilling/rehabilitation, etc…) in the beneficiary communities.
  • Report the progress of the work to the supervisor and the Head of project
  • Report possible problems or conflict during the activities or any other issues that requires IMC follow up/ action
  • Participating in Organizing training sessions and present in all facilitation in IDP camps and host communities.
  • Evaluate the necessary material needed for a campaign/activity.
  • Conduct house hold assessments.
  • Monitor the Distribution of water, hygiene and sanitation items.
  • Follow up with WASH staff collection of water sample from household and source and document results obtained based on indicator for the activity.
  • Relate with WASH staff in obtaining accurate raw data for impact analysis during post distribution survey and also to make input into monthly and quarterly reports
  • Regular reporting of indicator achieved on various WASH activities to supervisor/ WASH Officer
  • Provide support to other areas of the department as may be required by the supervisor.
Qualifications
  • B.Sc or HND in Economics, Statistics, Mathematics, Sciences or any relevant technical qualification.
  • At least one (1) year of experience in data collection and analysis as an M&E with a non-profit, non-governmental organization or community development experience.
  • Demonstrated skill in capacity building at community level.
  • Communicate well in Hausa & any other local language is an added advantage.
  • Excellent experience with Microsoft Excel, Power Point, etc.
  • Strong skills with Microsoft Word
  • Excellent English communication skills
  • Ability to exercise sound judgment and make decisions independently

    Job Title: Roving Security Manager Location: Nigeria Job Description
  • The Country Security Manager works at the direction of the Country Director and the Director of Global Security. The primary function of the Country Security Manager is provide assistance to the Country Director and country programs, as assigned, on all issues of safety and security as they relate to staff at a program site.
  • The Country Security Manager oversees daily security management of a country program site and manages the National Security Officers, as well as trains and mentors Security Focal Points.
  • The Country Security Manager will monitor and assess security conditions, assist and provide direction to country management teams and Security Focal Points (SFP’s). The Director of Global Security (DGS) is the technical manager for the Country Security Manager.
Essential Responsibilities Security Management:
  • Develop and update the Security Risk Assessments (SRA’s), SOP’s and Contingency Plans
  • Supervise and train National Security Manager and Security Focal Points
  • Coordinate and monitor security activities to ensure that safety and security policies and procedures are implemented
  • Ensure that all field staff is fully cognizant of prevailing security threats and fully advised on means to reduce staff vulnerability to those threats
  • Design and drill warden systems, emergency communications networks, and provisioning of emergency supplies for field personnel
  • Ensure internal incident tracking system is utilized properly and perform incident mapping and analysis
  • Collects security related information from local and regional resources as it applies to sites and communicates with Director of Global Security (DGS) and Country Director (CD) as appropriate
  • Monitors the security preparedness of country staff and works with CD to enforce staff compliance with internal security policies and SOPs
  • When directed by the DGS, carry out investigations and capture lessons learned to be incorporated into future staff trainings
  • Act as a key member of the Field Incident Team when required during a crisis so that safety policies and procedures are implemented
  • Ensures logistics follows a servicing and maintenance schedule for vehicles
  • Audits communications equipment and facilitates communications-related assistance when necessary.
  • Recommends changes in country security plans to CD and DGS as needed
  • Ensure induction security briefings are conducted to all arriving staff, visitors or volunteers
Compliance:
  • Ensure weekly security reports are completed and sent to headquarters, providing timely updates of all situational and security developments including investigation of security incidents:
    • Conducts and submits Security Risk Assessments of programs, as required.
    • Conducts and submits full Site Security Surveys of every site visited.
    • Conducts and submits Trip Reports of all high-risk field deployments.
    • The above should be completed using the Security Department approved templates, and be submitted to the Director of Global Security and the other HQ security staff.
    • Keep excellent records and logs to ensure continuity of this position
Human Resources:
  • Oversee the recruitment and selection of qualified national security field staff, recommend promotions, disciplinary action and termination of staff in consultation with the Country Director
  • Make frequent site visits to facilities to carry out security assessments and ensure appropriate care and training are being conducted. Maintain open lines of communications with all field staff
Training/ Capacity Building:
  • Determine training needs for the security staff
  • Train senior national staff to increase their responsibilities in order to build capacity and ensure sustainability
  • Works with DGS and CD to conduct any staff security training that is warranted.
Working Relationships:
  • Maintain excellent working relationships as a member of the country team senior management.
  • Build strong professional relationships with UN agencies, local authorities and other NGO’s
  • Maintain local networks to ensure community acceptance and local information
Representation:
  • Attends security coordination meetings and updates CD on current security issues
  • Contribute to the creation of a positive image and overall credibility of the organization, notably through the application of the organizations Code of Conduct, ethics, values and stand-point with regard to internal and external actors
  • Compliance & Ethics: Promotes and encourages a culture of compliance and ethics throughout International Medical Corps. Qualifications
  • Seven years of work experience in Security Risk Management & crisis management in emergency as well as development settings
  • Must have experience in unstable and resource deprived environments
  • Strong understanding of cultural, political and religious environment in the region, and be able to live and work successfully in those environments
  • Experience in the management of disaster relief personnel in hazard areas
  • Practical experience and knowledge of threat assessment and personal Security Management

      Job Title: Wash Technician Location: Dikwa, Borno State,Damboa Candidates: For Nigerian Nationals only Job Summary
  • The WASH Technician will be responsible for providing support to the WASH team on the hardware components of the WASH program including construction and drilling/rehabilitation of water points especially in the areas of BOQ development, drawing / designs and day to day supervision of field works to ensure contractors are delivering quality infrastructures including but not limited to latrines, water points
Main Responsibilities
  • Work with WASH Manager to conduct continual review of the designs and functionality of the water supply systems (and other water points) to ensure efficient operation as well as reliability and safe water distribution.
  • Act as the main technical personal in the development of BoQs and designs for all WASH works on the various projects including but not limited to latrines construction, water points drilling and rehabilitation.
  • Work with the WASH Manager to design templates, construction contracts for WASH related works, and a system for monitoring the progress of works and performance of hired contractor.
  • Provide rigorous supervision of WASH hardware works in the various communities and projects ( latrines construction, water points rehabilitation)
  • Provide technical supervision to contractors undertaking various IMC works in the communities and ensure delivered work is up to stand as required by IMC
  • Review technical reports from the various contractors and provide recommendations to the WASH Manager as to whether the delivered infrastructures meet the required standards and quality by IMC
  • Provide technical inputs in assessments for new project areas

  • Demonstrated skill in the use of AutoCad, CAD, GIS software, and GPS device.
  • Experience in drafting Bill of Quantities for civil works.

  • Under the supervision of WASH Officer, the WASH assistant will be responsible to participate in hygiene campaigns, to participate in house to house hygiene promotion, and to prepare written material for the field, elaborate clear and adapted message for beneficiaries, as well as oversee the hygiene promotion and other WASH activities conducted by the community volunteers.
Main Responsibilities The WASH Assistant will be responsible for:
  • Selection and training of the hygiene promoters (VCM).
  • Collection of bio data for both VCMs and beneficiaries in communities.
  • Input beneficiaries’ data into spread sheet in preparation for distribution of NFI kits in communities.
  • Train and monitor VCMs on how to conduct hygiene promotion sessions and fill their log sheets properly document topics discussed, advice provided, document issues of concern for IMC follow up action, number of attendees to sessions, etc…
  • Collection of VCM log sheet on monthly basis and certifying work done by VCMs.
  • Identification of the most appropriate messages regarding the target population.
  • Organize training sessions and participate in facilitation in IDP camps and host communities.
  • Evaluate the necessary material needed for a campaign/activity.
  • Mobilize the community on change behaviour regarding hygiene practices.
  • Participate in hygiene campaigns, doing shows in schools and at community level and IDP camps in close coordination with community volunteers
