Job Title: Clearing & Forwarding Officer

Location: Lagos
Job Responsibilities:
- The candidate should be very conversant with tariff act, clearing and forwarding procedures, custom declaration and clearance of goods at Sea ports/Airports.
- Manage customs documentation for clearing and forwarding.
- Renewal of relevant licenses (should be conversant to the procedures)
- Must be very conversant with custom laws, tariff schedules and classifications, Government rules, prohibited list of items for importation, import and export regulations and procedures, shipping procedures and documentations.
- To get duty assessment in one day after Pre- Arrival Assessment Report (PAAR) and rotation number is allotted.
- To arrange cargo scanning within a day after terminal charges paid.
- To clear consignment within 10 days from the date of receipt of Pre- Arrival Assessment
- Report (PAAR).
- To secure business of various exporters and importers and has the ability to forward and clear their consignments.
- To negotiate best freight rates with the shipping line to cover the interest of clients.
- To apply and get refunds (shipping & container deposits etc.)
- To be able to organize fast track clearing for the group.
- To prepare daily progress report and send to Head Office before close of the business.
- Any other assignment that may be given from time to time by superior officers.
Qualification:B.Sc or HND in Shipping Management / Business Administration.
Skills & Experience Desirable:- Must be computer literate
- Must have 4 - 5 year experience in similar field
- Age should be within 25 – 40 years
- Must have excellent customer service skills, good organizational and communication skills.
- Must be conversant with all activities in shipping management but of priority is the clearing and forwarding which the expected candidate must have performed in a similar industry.
RemunerationSalary: N70, 000 – N85, 000 / Month
Job Title: Importer OfficerJob Title: IMPORT 201 Location: Lagos
Job Responsibilities:
- Plan, and coordinate activities of subordinates and exporter/suppliers in purchasing materials, services and products.
- Analyze market and delivery systems in order to assess present and future material requirements.
- Coordinate with project department to identify exact requirements, quantities and delivery schedules.
- Prepare daily/weekly/monthly reports as per management requirements.
- Candidates should be fully aware of import procedures at the local/ International level.
- Raise/review purchase orders, claims and contracts in conformity with company policies.
- Candidate should be aware of prohibited goods and import policies promulgated by the Federal Government of Nigeria from time to time.
- Review, evaluate and recommend specifications for issuing awarding bids.
- Locate vendors for materials, equipments and spare parts. Interview them in order to determine product availability, delivery and payment terms.
- Prepare bid awards for board approvals.
- Represent company in negotiating contracts and formulating contracts policies with suppliers.
- Liaison /communicate with agencies outside company such as customs, Government departments/parastals/agencies.
- Organize, plan, prioritize materials/services requirements.
- Ensure supply of materials / services on time.
- Candidate should be a very good communicator and should know thorough use of e-mail/internet facilities
- Any other assignment that may be given by the organization from time to time.
Qualification:Must be a graduate in Engineering OR other similar field.
Skills & Experience Desirable:- Age should be within 30 - 35 years.
- Must be computer literate.
- Must have 5-6 Years preferably in construction/Manufacturing Company. More preferable is experience in Mechanical Electrical Plumbing (MEP) and Heating Ventilation and Air-conditioning (HVAC) items.
- The preferred candidate must be able to understand the various processes involved in the importation of any item locally and internationally.
RemunerationSalary: N50, 000 - N65, 000 / Month
