An international non-governmental organization currently implementing a program to improve the participation of key Nigerian stakeholders in electoral and political processes is looking for Nigerian citizens to fill the underlisted position within its offices in Abuja, Nigeria.
These stakeholders include: political parties; election authorities; media; and under represented groups such as women, youth and persons with disabilities.

The specific objectives of its program are to:

  • Strengthen the capacity of political parties to more effectively and responsibly participate in the electoral process.
  • Strengthen capacity of domestic observers and party agents to monitor national and state elections.
  • Enhance the democratic role of and use of new and traditional media in the political process.
  • To promote stakeholder dialogues on the electoral process.
We are recruiting for the positions below:

Job Title: Administrative Assistant (AA)
Location:
Abuja
Reporting: The AA reports to the Country Director
Duties & Responsibilities
  • Assist the office manager in the following:
  • Planning of meetings organized or supported by the organization.
  • Take minutes of internal meetings.
  • Develop and maintain a comprehensive filling system.
  • Coordination of staff and visitors hotels and travel plans.
  • Coordination of procurement of goods and services and store management.
Qualifications and Experience
  • At least 1.5 years work experience in a similar position.
  • Demonstrate ability to priorities task and ensure follow through.
  • Ability to negotiate and relate with people
  • Demonstrate integrity and transparency
  • Experience working with an NGO or internationally recognized institution.
  • Preference will be given to candidates with either a finance and/or IT background.
  • Excellent Written and spoken English.
Job Title: Receptionist (Intern)
Location:
Abuja
Reporting: The Receptionist reports to the Country Director
Duties & Responsibilities

  • Maintain diary, schedule appointments, receive and channel phone calls.
  • Follow up and ensure timely action on correspondences.
  • General clerical duties such as filing, photocopying, scanning
  • Receive and direct visitors and clients
  • Assist to schedule and coordinate meetings, appointments and travel arrangements for managers or supervisors.
  • Open, sort and distribute incoming correspondence
Qualifications and Experience
  • Minimum of Bachelor's Degree or Diploma
  • Ability to perform multiple tasks quickly as well as meet deadlines
  • Must be calm, courteous and professional
  • Possess initiative, a positive attitude and have strong value for loyalty, respect for confidentiality and discretion, dependability.
Job Title: Driver
Location:
Abuja
Reporting: The Driver reports to the Country Director
Duties & Responsibilities

  • Drive IRI local staff for activities related to IRI work, including transportation to and from IRI's office each day.
  • Ensure IRI vehicles are maintained in good working condition. Bring to the attention of the relevant staff any defects and parts that require replacement
  • Ensure that IRI vehicles' insurance and permits are up-to-date
  • Run errands, such as picking up office supplies or delivering paperwork to project partners, etc.
  • Perform routine office maintenance duties
Qualifications and Experience
  • At least 5 years work experience in a similar position in an international organization, local NGO, or reputable company
  • Possess a valid Drivers' License
  • Must be calm, courteous and professional
  • Possess initiative, a positive attitude and have strong value for loyalty
