Health Reform Foundation of Nigeria (HERFON) is a Non-Governmental Organization established in Nigeria in response to the deplorable condition of the health systems. The foundation aims to promote, support, sustain and monitor the health sector reform in Nigeria.
It does this through advocacy and capacity building for health reform, mobilizing and coordinating the resources needed for health reform and collaborating with other partners. The Foundation receives its funds from members' contribution, development partners and Nigeria governments. It has its head office in Abuja, six Zonal offices and thirty seven State offices within Nigeria. The six zonal offices are situated as follow:-
South East -Enugu
North Central-Lafia
North East-Damaturu
South-South Portharcourt
South- West- Ibadan
North West-Kaduna
HERFON wishes to recruit self-motivated professionals to fill the position of Zonal Program officers for the six zonal offices.
JOB TITLE: Zonal Program officers
VACANCY RESPONSIBILITY/QUALIFICATION
The candidate for the Zonal Program Officer's position will report to the National Program Manager and will be responsible for all Advocacy for the strengthening of Health Sector especially PHC financing, HRH, Policy Reform, Governance and Projects of HERFON. This position requires a graduate in Medical Sciences or Health related field. A good understanding of Nigeria Health Sector Reform programme would be an advantage. He/She should have at least 5 years post graduation experience, 2 of which should be in the Health Sector. Regional travel will be required. Good IT skills and previous experience in donor programmes is preferred. He/She should have good analytical and interpersonal skills. This is a senior position in the organization hence the candidate is required to have previous Programmes experience with demonstrable competency and skills in project execution. Experience in International programme would be an advantage. The candidate is required to have good understanding of major Health Systems Development areas, Maternal and Child Health, Malaria e.t.c Our ideal person should have drive, energy and good personal appearance.Salary attractive.
