Job Title: Grants and Finance Assistant
Location: Abuja
Descriptions
- We are looking for someone
with excellent grant and finance administration skills. Somebody who us
conversant with DFID financial and programmatic regulation.
- The preferred candidate should be able to work with minimal supervision and with an eye for details.
- S/he must be self-propelled and reliable under pressure
Purpose
- The purpose of the Grants and Finance Assistant role is to
provides support to the finance and grant team in managing the grants
and contributes to the smooth running of the grants administration.
Overall Responsibilities
Provide technical leadership to the V4C program in relation to knowledge management, including:
- With Grants Manager and Finance and Administration Manager,
assist with grants and financial reports reconciliation and preparation
for annual audit
- Review Partners Monthly Financial Reports for Arithmetical accuracy and compliance to the Partners Operations guidelines.
- Provide follow up support and tracking of administrative,
programmatic and financial issues as requested by the Grant and
Compliance manager.
- Assist in preparation of materials about programme activities or
documentation of lessons learned in liaison with other departments
- Undertake other responsibilities not outlined above which are
appropriate for a role of this nature and which have been discussed and
agreed with the line manager;
- Responsible for Filing and updating partners financial and Grant folders
- Assist in the annual partners project budgeting process;
- Assist in monitoring project spend against budget;
- Ensure timely submission of reports from partners and accurate reporting;
- Manage all secretariat processes relating to grant administration and compliance;
- Provide guidance to project partners regarding budget and financial management and donor compliance;
Essential Education and Experience Required
- A graduate Degree in Finance or related field.
- 3 to 5 years experience working in the field of Grants, Finance and compliance.
Key Competencies Knowledge Required:
- Building Collaborative Relationships
- DFID grant management guidelines.
- Palladiumfinancial systems and processes.
- Legal issues surrounding grant compliance.
- Following up Partner Performance
- Project Financial Reporting and Review Communication
