Job Title: Environmental Energy Management Engineer

Location: Rivers
Employment Type: Full-time

Service Summary

  • This Service is requested in order to assist with Coordinating of all TEPNG Joint Venture Assets Operational efforts towards achieving TotalEnergies Group ambitions for Environment and Energy Efficiency management
  • Serve as the custodian of JV operations Energy Management System (EnMS)
  • Support Production Reporting and Hydrocarbon Accounting Activities

Responsibilities

  • GHG reduction opportunities focal point and coordinator for JV Field operations
  • Liaise with HSE Dept to develop a road map towards achieving Group objective to reduce our GHG as part of the global commitment regarding Climate Change
  • Follow-up action plan to reflect progressive reduction of GHG in the Long Term Planning (LTP)
  • Interface with HSE, Development planning and New energies team on Carbon Footprint Reduction (CFR) project and Roadmap for Field Operations
  • Provide support to project managers and teams in charge of Executing CFR roadmap projects in Field Operations
  • Manage interfaces with other stakeholders for CFR roadmap projects
  • Report Field Operations data in Pl@net Software for HSE (monthly and Annual)
  • Identify CFR projects and initiatives from other affiliates that may be applicable to the JV Asset
  • Provide support on Emissions impact assessment on Flaring and Fuel gas utilization.
  • Support the adoption and implementation of new technologies, tools and systems to aid in emissions reduction and carbon footprint reduction for Field Operations.

Energy Efficiency Management:

  • Implement EnMS on all JV Operations all sites (documents, procedure, KPI follow-up)
  • Deploy EnMs for sites where it is not yet deployed and for all new projects
  • In charge of the EnMS Dashboard preparation/monitoring for each site
  • Coordination of the Energy Efficiency action plan between JV entities
  • Coordinator with HSE-ENV for ISO 14001 & 50001 (ENV) action plans follow-up and closure for Field Operations.

Flaring reporting and action plan coordination:

  • Prepare and issue NUPRC flaring reports (monthly, yearly, NGFCP)
  • Coordinate action plan and focal point for JV field Operations flaring reduction activities (action to reduce non-routine flaring)
  • Assist the Field Operation CFR Focal Point in ensuring an active interface with all stakeholders involved in CFR plan in the Affiliate.
  • Contribute necessary technical data and interface with Development planning team for the development of the Long-Term Plan (LTP) of GHG emissions for JV Asset
  • Regular updates of the TEPNG JV Assets flaring philosophy (keeper/referent for the flaring philosophy)
  • Contribute to drawing up annual flaring budgets and Production & Flaring forecasts
  • Develop / Manage tools for flaring reporting and scenario forecasts
  • Liaise with all JV Operations site to populate the Environment / Energy Efficient dashboards ensure consistent and accurate reporting.
  • Support digitization efforts and Projects related to Emissions and Energy efficiency for Field Operations.

Context and Environment:

  • Stringent Government policies and several requests from Government Agencies
  • TEPNG ambition to reduce GHG emissions
  • Management requests for statistical data / adjustment in programs are required within tight time limit and with high precision for important decisions
  • Uncertain operational/non-operational events affecting production data management
  • Interface with HSE department of Environment and Energy Efficiency Management for the District.

HSE Content:

  • Familiarize self with TEPNG emergency procedures and report to the Manager any incident, unsafe act or operation.
  • Carry out assigned duties safely according to TEPNG HSE procedures in such a manner to minimize/ eliminate unsafe exposure to self or follow workers.
  • Maintain awareness of and ensure compliance with all relevant Statutory and Company HSE standards.

Accountabilities

  • Provide Routine emissions analysis with explanations to Departmental Managers
  • Custodian of the District’s flaring and energy efficiency data.

Qualifications / Experience Required

  • B.Eng / B.Sc Degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Civil, Chemical, Process, Petroleum, Environmental or equivalent
  • Minimum of 5 years experience in Oil & Gas operations or activities
  • Knowledge of GHG Emission Sources/Tracking, Energy Efficiency Management in the oil & Gas Industry, and Regulations regarding
  • Environment Management (Local & international)
  • Computer literacy (including MsExcel, Access, etc), and a knowledge of petroleum engineering software systems.

Salary
N350,000 - N500,000 Monthly.
