Overview

  • We are seeking a Country Finance and Accounting Manager to lead Tek Experts' broader accounting and financial reporting and ensure that all requirements for established policies including CBN, IFRS, and other financial regulatory standards are met.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure  the record of all financial transactions is completed on time and with flawless accuracy in line with national accounting standards, IFRS and group management policies and procedures.
  • Manage the month-end closing process as per the group finance policies and procedures.
  • Ownership of local financial information (GL and Trial balance) and the performance of the financial team in terms of accuracy and meeting deadlines in line with the group company policies, procedures, and practices.
  • Act as the single point of contact and owner for any compliance, regulatory, stand-alone and group audits, tax inspections and other audits etc.
  • The creation, execution, and documentation of necessary accounting process controls to ensure quality and compliance including proposing updates to the financial policies and procedures.
  • Preparing monthly, quarterly, and annual statutory and management financial statements, budgets, forecasts, and other reports as required by the global finance management team.
  • Overseeing the finance and accounting systems and ultimate accountability for local IFRS/GAAP and tax compliance in the respective jurisdiction.
  • Acting as final authority regarding any financial matters and offering support on questions and requests.
  • Work in tandem with the global finance team and serve as their local representative to manage the compliance of all business functions.
  • Producing reports for the Group CFO team and overseeing external financial services providers.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or another related field. A Master’s degree would be advantageous. ICAN qualification preferred.
  • Deep knowledge of the local tax legislation/compliance and practical experience of not less than 3 years with all tax filings (CIT, PIT, WHT, VAT, etc.).
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office products as well as written and verbal fluency in the English language.
  • Deep understanding of IFRS and local GAAP standards.
  • At least 3 years of experience in a multinational corporate environment.
  • At least 2 years of experience managing accounting teams including their professional development, teamwork, delegation, and escalation.
  • Proven success managing statutory and management reporting & related activities.
  • Excellent team, leadership, and communications skills - capacity to work in fast-paced, dynamic environments and to take ownership of problem-solving and adapt to new challenges.
