Consultant, Women’s Economic Empowerment Job Vacancy at UN Women

UN Women - In July 2010, the United Nations General Assembly created UN Women, the United Nations Entity for Gender Equality and the Empowerment of Women. In doing so, UN Member States took an historic step in accelerating the Organization's goals on gender equality and the empowerment of women. The creation of UN Women came about as part of the UN reform agenda, bringing together resources and mandates for greater impact. It merges and builds on the important work of four previously distinct parts of the UN system, which focused exclusively on gender equality and women's empowerment. We are recruiting to fill the position below:     Job Title: Consultant, Women’s Economic Empowerment Location: Abuja Additional Category: Gender Equality Type of Contract: Individual Contract Post Level: National Consultant Starting Date: (date when the selected candidate is expected to start) 25th June, 2018 Duration of Initial Contract: 3 Month Expected Duration of Assignment: 3 Months Background UN Women’s office in Nigeria works to advance implementation of the agency’s normative, operational and coordination mandate, in close partnership with the Government of Nigeria, the United Nations Country Team and civil society organizations.  The UN Women Nigeria Country Office prioritizes women’s economic empowerment as one of its core programmatic areas of focus.
