  • Abt Associates seeks a qualified Driver to support the international Health Division in Nigeria.
  • Abt Associates is a mission-driven, global leader in research and program implementation in the fields of health, social and environmental policy, and international development.
  • The 5-year USAID-funded Health Finance and Governance project (HFG) provides technical assistance in health systems strengthening around the world. In Nigeria, the HFG project team works together with USAID and the Government of Nigeria (GON) to support sustainability and country ownership of Nigeria’s HIV/AIDS, TB, and Maternal Neonatal, and Child Health/Family Planning (MNCH/FP) programs.
  • HFG in Nigeria supports the USAID goal of closing the HIV/AIDS programming resource gap at the state and local levels through domestic financing mechanisms. HFG supports this goal through the development of strategic actions at the state level to expedite the scaling up of the HIV/AIDS response in the country. This will be complemented with strategic actions to strengthen the effectiveness and efficiency of spending in the area of HIV/AIDS.

Key Roles and Responsibilities
  • Project driver will be responsible for overseeing and maintaining the project vehicle under the supervision of the Country Finance & Admin Manager
  • Keeps detailed records of vehicle movements and maintenance performed;
  • Support the project office by performing general service tasks, repairs, deliveries, etc.
  • Any other task as may be required.
  • Operates and maintains project vehicles to meet the transportation needs of the project.
  • Follows schedule of routine vehicle maintenance;
Deliverable:
  • A plan for routine vehicle maintenance and servicing.
  • A draft vehicle usage log.
  • A draft plan on how to ensure vehicle and staff safety.
Preferred skills / Prerequisites
  • At least a Senior Secondary School certificate.
  • A valid driver’s license;
  • Three years of project driving experience, preferably with an international development organization
  • Ability to communicate fluently in English is required.
